Machining head M21 with work spindle
The machining head (A- / C-axis) is at the heart of the machine.
It is designed as a fork head with integrated torque motors (Patent EP0085081). The geometric
arrangement of the motors and drive technology lead to a high-precision positioning and contour
accuracy in 5-axis machining. The A-axis is coupled hydraulically to the C-axis. Giving guaranteed
high precision repeatability, the interface between A- and C-axis is equipped with “Hirth-Ring
Coupling”. In addition, all media will be connected automatically via quick couplings to the work spindle.
High cutting rates are achieved by the head in any position. The head and spindle have internal refrigeration. The head can accommodate different spindles to operate on various applications depending on the speeds and power requirements.
